Diamonds are a scam.. the global supply is artificially limited by the DeBeers cartel coupled with social programming around the value of the diamond; ie. diamonds are not a scare commodity.. not only that, but, the diamond trade fuels wars, impoverishes nations and its people...
I agree with you. Its amaizing how "those people" have stripped Africa of her best raw materials and left the entire continent disheveled and uneducated considering how powerful her economy might be using Diamonds and oil as traded resources.
I think I'm going to get my future wife a cubic zirconia or a moissanite (artificial diamond) in an 18K White gold band. If she ever finds out it isn't a true diamond I'll tell her "I didn't want real diamond because it fuels wars and conflicts in poor countries - F*ck DeBeers.
If I'm still married to her 2 days after she finds out...
Women know nothing about diamond except it can cut glass. So long as an artificial cuts glass she'll think she has the real deal.
well duh, but if the true market price of diamonds was actually in practice, the market would go find some other semi-precious stone to put in an engagement ring. Price fixing is funny like that, as well as perceived value.
I'm sure in true market value a 1 carat diamond is probably like $50.
as for that box... lol @ the "my proposal" bullet selection.
